One Quiet Piece is the creative home of Cindy Yan, also known by the Chinese name Yan Lanxin. It collects paintings, paper art, textile pieces, origami, and handmade objects made slowly by hand.

Painting, knitting, folding paper, and making small objects are not only about the finished piece. They are also about spending time with materials: a brushstroke, a fold, a line of yarn, a paper texture, or a small detail that changes as it is handled.

This site is meant to hold finished work, process projects, studio notes, and small reflections. It can grow slowly, one piece at a time.
